Vestry Member
A Carmel resident since 2003 and All Saints’ parishioner since 2004. I sing in the Choir, serve on the Outreach Committee, and belong to the parish Book Club. Initially familiar with All Saints’ only as a Carmel Bach Festival venue, my husband, Charlie Grauling (deceased in April 2018), and I both felt immediately welcomed at All Saints’. I am especially proud to belong to a church where inclusion is a theme and “you don’t have to park your brain at the door when you enter”.
I earned degrees from Purdue University in mathematics, USC in computer science, and engineering management from UCLA. I retired after 35 years as an engineering and project manager for aerospace companies, moving from Redondo Beach, CA, to Carmel in 2003. In 2007, I founded Interfaith Outreach of Carmel (IOC), an organization of sponsoring faith communities whose mission is to extend a helping hand of service and reducing homelessness in Monterey County. In 2010, the IOC opened the Joining Hands Benefit Shop, whose proceeds go to this cause. I am a prior Commissioner on the Carmel-by-the-Sea Activities and Cultural Commission, and a prior member of the Carmel Bach Festival Board of Directors, the MPC community band, the All Saints Day School Board of Directors, and the Del Mesa Carmel Community Homeowner’s Association Board of Directors.
I have served on the Vestry in the past and welcome the opportunity to serve again.
