This is a Holy Week like no other… and the Easter Sunday ahead of us, will be equally unique in all of human experience. COVID-19 rushed in, in mid-March (for the United States) to change the way we worship. Amazingly, we have transformed ourselves, along with virtually everyone (no pun intended), into an online community—tethered together by the Spirit of God in Christ.
Now, as we have arrived at Holy Week, we look to how to honor and experience our meaningful traditions and rituals under these restrictions. Our Palm Sunday service was pre-recorded and posted to vimeo, and then shared a “Live! Coffee Hour” via Go To Meeting. Together, we found comfort and hope.
Beginning Thursday, we will enter into cyberspace still further, as we “watch from afar” the live-streamed services of Washington National Cathedral, or “stay closer to home” participating via the live-streamed services of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Saratoga, CA. Check listings and websites below for scheduled services.
Links for the Easter Triduum Services — Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday, (The Great Easter Vigil) — will go live on the day and time of the broadcast. Note that all services from the National Cathedral are listed as Eastern Daylight time (EDT).
