This Lenten Season we have chosen to practice Building Healthy Relationships as a part of the spiritual practice we embrace within our Parish Covenant. The text The Emotionally Healthy Church by pastor Pete Scazzero is guiding our path during an expanded seven-week study.
Scazzero is the teaching pastor of a multi-cultural, international church in Queens, New York. His challenges (successes and failures) as a church leader formed the message he passionately shares in this series: Spiritual maturity/integrity is not possible without emotional health.
With our All Saints’ community intention to grow into wholeness and experience spiritual transformation in Christ, this study encourages us to become an emotionally healthy church by its seven core principles:
- Look Beneath the Surface
- Break the Power of the Past
- Live in Brokenness and Vulnerability
- Receive the Gift of Limits
- Embrace Grieving and Loss
- Make Incarnation Your Model for Loving Well
- Slow Down to Lead with Integrity
Please join us in this dynamic community building study. We meet Wednesdays through Lent (March 13 through April 10) in Seccombe Hall for soup supper and study. The books and workbooks we are using are available through Amazon.
