All Saints Episcopal Church

Carmel, California

“Glorifying Christ—Living for Others”

Aside from our regular Sunday services, seasonal and other special services are conducted as appropriate. On the Feast of the Epiphany, January 6, 2008 our Bishop Mary Gray-Reeves presides over a Celebration of New Ministry. This beautiful candlelit service blessed a new beginning in the ministry of All Saints parish and all our missions, and the leadership of our new Rector, the Rev. Rick Matters.

Holy Week, also known as Passiontide, is a time of special observance, beginning with Palm Sunday processions, continuing with Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services, the Great Vigil of Easter on Saturday night, and of, course Easter Sunday services complete with Easter Egg hunt.

Annual All Saints traditions include: Ash Wednesday, which begins the yearly period of fasting and discipline leading up to Easter; Blessing of the Animals on the Feast of St. Francis (early October); Episcopal Schools Sunday (also in October) when we celebrate our mission of All Saints Day School and our longtime connection with York School; the celebration of our founding on All Saints Day (the first Sunday in November) and Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed (All Souls’ Day) that same weekend; a Thanksgiving Day service, and Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services.

Another important part of our tradition is to gather for worship to mark and celebrate milestones in the lives of our members and friends. Baptisms, Confirmations, Weddings and Burial and Memorial Services are available. Contact the church office for more information
