Vestry members include the rector and elected members of the parish, who serve a three-year term. The vestry elects a treasurer and a clerk. From among its members, the rector elects a senior warden and the vestry elects a junior warden. The associate rector also participates in discussions. The rector, senior warden, treasurer and clerk serve as officers of the corporation.
Vestry members serve as spiritual leaders of the parish by articulating and promoting the vision and mission of the parish. They are also agents and legal representatives of the parish. They ensure effective congregational planning, resources and stewardship. This means that they are responsible for raising funds, approving an operating budget, and managing expenses. The vestry also ensures that proper business methods are practiced. The vestry establishes and monitors programs, but does not run these programs. Finally, vestry members communicate to the congregation, the diocese, our community and the larger church.
The vestry uses the following four standing committees and several temporary task force groups to undertake detailed work in areas for which the vestry is responsible. Normally, a vestry member sits on each committee, but does not necessarily chair that group. Because of the vestry’s fiscal responsibility, however, a vestry member does chair the Finance Committee.

The vestry has organized the ministry and mission of the parish into several commissions. These commissions are teams of leaders who oversee an area of ministry by developing and recruiting leaders for events or programs. The commission oversees the budget for its area of ministry and reports monthly to the vestry and annually to the parish.
